Week of March 30, 2007    By Rory Horning    Editor    POLSON - THE $13,000.00 DRAFT REPORT    THE COUNCIL DIDN’T READ YET?    On Monday, March 19, 2007 the Polson City    Council voted Unanimously to accept two    water wells from Polson Water Board member Dennis Duty of Mission Bay/Ridge Water Subdivisions. The Wells were touted by both Mayor Clavadetscher and Councilman Tom Corse. The fact that the wells contain 8 times the acceptable levels of manganese seems to be of little concern to the council. A treatment plant will be necessary prior to introducing this well water in to the municipal water system. The Mayor says the cost will be about one million dollars. The engineering report says the cost will be 1.7 to 2 million dollars. Didn’t anyone read the report or did someone read the report and purposely intend to mislead the public for the benefit of a bud (Buddy). If manganese only effects the color of the water let’s start serving it at the City Council meetings. If the elected leadership isn’t going to inform themselves through the reports of the hired consultants (professionals) prior to voting on an issue then lets’ not waste our tax dollars. We can certainly use this money on the streets, on the parks, in the police and fire departments or even providing insurance to not for profit events working for the betterment of this communities social environment, etc.. GO-ALONG-TO-GET-ALONG: To the G2Gs who can’t take sides for the sake of their businesses, you do take sides by standing silent when your community and its’ children are being taken for the proverbial ride. Remember the three little monkeys, see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil. I suspect that Polson has been visited by the fourth little monkey, cover all evil. That’s the little monkey that stays in the backroom with the wrong politicians, bureaucrats and moneychangers covering all the evil with smoke and mirrors. They also want the public to think that honest citizens who ask for public information are only making trouble.
